Get ready to explore the smooth, smudgy world of soft pastels! This beginner class is for youth ages 10-14 who want to experiment with powdery textures, vibrant colours, and creative mark-marking. Students will learn how to blend, layer, and play with pastels in fun and expressive ways, all while building confidence with this chalky medium.

Meet Your Instructor:

Hayleigh Prentice recently completed her degree in Secondary Education with a minor in Visual Arts Education, giving her both a foundation in teaching and experience working creatively with youth. Passionate about helping students express themselves through art, she strives to build a space where young artists feel confident exploring new ideas and techniques. Hayleigh’s favourite medium is soft pastels, which she uses to create soft, layered, and playful artworks.
